Academy Awards 2012 – Die Show

Montag morgen, 5:45 Uhr war sie leider schon wieder vorbei, die 84. Oscarverleihung.
Doch zurück auf Anfang. Mit dem alt eingesessenen Host Billy Crystal sollte die Show nach 2,3 schwachen Jahren endlich wieder zur alten Stärke auflaufen.

Doch zunächst bekam man es auf „Pro Sieben“ zwar mit der blanken Angst zu tun, denn die ersten 3 Worte des Abends wurden simultan von einem Übersetzer (es hörte sich nach Steven Gätjen an) ins Deutsche übersetzt. Doch der Schock war nur von kurzer Dauer, denn danach war Ruhe um deutschen Karton und man konnte ungestört dem Oscar-O-Ton lauschen. Gott sei Dank.

Die Wiederbelebung der Veranstaltung gelang dafür direkt von Beginn an vortrefflich gut. Allein der Opener, der Crystal in diversen Szenen von nominierten Filmen zeigt strapaziert die Lachmuskeln bereits arg. Und das war erst der Anfang. Crystal schloss an das Spaß-Video mit einer famoes Eröffnungsrede und einem kleinen Ständchen an, in dem er scherzhaft weiter auf die nominierten Filme und Schauspieler eingeht.

Bereits so früh zu Beginn zeigt sich, was einen guten Oscarmoderator auszeichnet, denn spielend werden Anne Hathaway und James Franco in die Tasche gesteckt. Und auch die einstudierten Späße von Alec Baldwin und Steve Martin von vor zwei Jahren übertrumpft Crystal spielend, denn er wirkt jederzeit Spontan, auch wenn wahrscheinlich nur wenig spontan überlegt ist. Crystal ist locker aber trotzdem auch an den richtigen Stellen angemessen zurückhaltend und hat seine Späße perfekt getimed denn wirklich jeder trifft ins Schwarze.
Tagesaktuell gab es auch diverse Schelten gegen die Namensprobleme des einstigen „Kodak Theaters“ in dem die Veranstaltung stattfindet, welches nach der Pleite des Konzerns nun einen anderen Namen benötigt („We’re here at the beautiful Chapter Eleven Theater“).

Academy Awards 2011 – Die Show

Um 2:30 begann sie und um 5:45 war alles schon wieder vorbei. Die 83. Academy Awards wurden gestern verliehen, doch die Show war wohl leider die schlechteste die ich bisher gesehen habe(schaue aber auch erst seit 2005). Die Skepsis die sich zuvor breit gemacht hatte wegen des jungen Moderatoren-Duos Anne Hathaway und James Franco, sollte sich leider bestätigen. Zwar begannen sie mit einem wirklich ganz witzigen Einspieler, den ich die letzten Jahre immer ein wenig vermisst hatte, doch die anschließende Moderation fiel dann direkt weit dahinter zurück. Nun folgte eigentlich der Part, an dem die Moderatoren die Anwesenden Stars aufs Korn nehmen, einige ausgewählte Darsteller vorstellen und ein paar, auch mal gern derbe, Scherze machen. Leider hatten Hathaway und Franco, außer ihre Eltern/Großeltern für 2 Gags zu benutzen, nicht viel auf dem Kasten…und dies sollte sich durch die Show ziehen wie in roter Faden.

Die ersten Kategorien waren Art Direction und Cinematography. Tom Hanks präsentierte die beiden Preise und er schwelgte zunächst in Erinnerung. „Gone with the wind“, „Titanic“ und „Schindler‘s List“ räumten diese Preise zusammen mit vielen anderen ab und bewiesen damit, dass sie perfekte Filme waren. Diese Chance hätte heute Abend auch bestehen können, doch alles kam anders denn „Art Direction“ ging an „Alice in Wonderland“ und somit wirkt „Alice in Wonderland“ als Combo-Breaker.

Nach Tom Hanks kam dann eine Legende auf die Bühne und für mich das Highlight des Abends: Kirk Douglas. 94 Jahre, sprachlich ein wenig beeinträchtigt aber er witzelt die Hosts bereits hier gegen die Wand.

Nicht nur das er direkt Anne Hathaway angräbt, er wundert sich auch noch wieso Hugh Jackman lacht, aber alle Australier fänden ihn wohl witzig. Colin Firth allerdings nicht, naja, aber der ist ja auch Brite...

Academy Awards 2011 – Der Countdown

Heute Nacht ist es endlich wieder soweit. Noch knapp 11 Stunden trennen uns von der Nacht der Nächte für Filmfans. Ich freue mich bereits tierisch.
Ich werde am morgigen Tag natürlich auch wieder einen kleinen Bericht über die Veranstaltung verfassen, damit auch diejenigen die die Verleihung nicht im TV verfolgen können einen Eindruck davon bekommen wie es dieses Jahr ablief.
Einen Überblick über alle nominierten Filme erhaltet ihr weiterhin im Oscar-Bereich.
